Briefings Online!

As you all know by now, we're really into the continuing narratives around here.  Part of what helps create that environment is the amount of what you might call "living" armies that our players possess.  These armies are considered to represent the faction or splinter group in the narratives, as opposed to armies that might be laying around that people aren't doing anything with.

We still have a large number of armies being played for each game, and as new armies come and old armies go out the door, the narratives change in a dynamic way.  A new page is up to help keep track of all this, the Force Briefings page, available in the State of Play directory on the right.  This will be our repository for all  player created fiction pertaining to the narratives!

We've published several small articles dealing with the storylines behind some of our ongoing battles, and the characters involved therein.  Amazingly, these have been some of our more popular articles.  I've been toying with the idea of separating these into a new category, but it seemed necessary to have them listed per game in an easy format.

I urge everyone to create briefings for the armies they want to include in our narratives.  Get involved, and consider submitting an article or chatting it up with me to hammer out a storyline.  This is one way to officially declare your intentions, and it helps make the wars you fight with your army mean a little bit more if you're actually fighting for something.

Not only will you be able to stay in the know on the ongoing narratives, but you'll be able to see when updates are made to the individual army narratives.  Some new changes will be coming as the campaigns switch over, and new armies will be updated as they are published here on the front page.

I want to thank everyone for hanging in there as we make changes to our games formats and get everything up to speed after our short break.  We're starting new games in July, and have slightly altered the makeup of the wargames schedule.  We'll be focusing on making sure everyone has a great experience and makes the best use of their wargames investment, meaning you'll have a lot of games to play if you show up at the Wargate!
